Menopause NI want to ensure that all women have access to information and support in their transition through the menopause.
Welcome to Menopause NI, founded by Siobhan Kearney, to meet the growing need for awareness and education on perimenopause, menopause symptoms, and signs of menopause. Our goal at Menopause NI is to offer comprehensive support, workplace training and valuable information about the menopause. The change starts here!
Siobhan Kearney is the driving force behind Menopause NI. As a former CEO of a mental health charity, and having worked in the area of menopause awareness for the past 5 years, she brings a wealth of experience in designing and delivering menopause programmes and workshops, all with the central aim of raising awareness of the menopause and the impact is has on women's lives.
Our mission is to ensure that no woman embarks on her menopausal journey feeling isolated, and that menopause becomes a topic of open conversation in homes, communities, and workplaces all across Northern Ireland.
At Menopause NI, we are dedicated to empowering individuals and workplaces through our comprehensive education and training programmes.
Central to our mission is to destigmatise the menopause, and we are committed to achieving this goal through our innovative MenopauseNI ChangeMaker Programmes.
We are committed to support your menopause journey and taking proactive and constructive steps, not only for your personal well-being, but also to foster understanding and support within your community and workplace.
We will provide information and support to women who are experiencing menopause symptoms through our network of Associates and by delivering training and awareness in communities across Northern Ireland.
If you represent a workplace who wants to make visible improvements in supporting your staff, we provide an array of training and awareness workshops tailored to your needs.
These programmes empower your staff with the skills to initiate awareness-raising efforts and provide invaluable support within the workplace.
The very first step is to understand what is happening to you and understand the symptoms of the menopause. The symptom checker will help you get to know the changes that are happening to you. Whether these are physical or mental health and emotional changes, it is important that you recognise them.
This is also a useful tool for you to use when talking to your GP about your symptoms and will enable you to make informed choices. If you are concerned about the impact the menopause is having on your life then speaking with your GP is the best thing you can do.
Sometimes we just need someone to talk to. Whether you need support on managing your mood, explaining your perimenopause or menopause symptoms, are finding it difficult to manage your weight or body shape, have lost your confidence, or simply need a listening ear, we are here to help and give you menopause support.
Our Associates bring together a huge wealth of knowledge and expertise, and you can access their details by clicking on the links below.
If you are worried about yourself or someone else, we recommend you seek medical advice.
By becoming a Menopause NI ChangeMaker, you will contribute to our vision of a society where women are valued at all life stages and where they have access to information, support and treatment for their menopause.
There are currently three ways you can become a ChangeMaker for the menopause across NI.
And if you need more information or want to chat to our team about what this means, then please get in touch!
